Difference between qualitative and quantitative research.
Qualitative research:Qualitative Research is primarily exploratory research. It is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for potential quantitative research. Qualitative Research is also used to uncover trends in thought and opinions, and dive deeper into the problem.
Quantitative research:Quantitative Research is used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical data or data that can be transformed into usable statistics. It is used to quantify attitudes, opinions, behaviour, and other defined variables – and generalise results from a larger sample population. Quantitative Research uses measurable data to formulate facts and uncover patterns in research.
Qualitative research methods:
1.Methods include focus groups, in-depth interviews, and reviews of documents for types of themes.
2.Text-based.
3.Can be valid and reliable: largely depends on skill and rigour of the researcher.
4.Time expenditure lighter on the planning end and heavier during the analysis phase.
5.Less generalisation.
Quantitative research methods:
1.Surveys, structured interviews & observations, and reviews of records or documents for numeric information.
2.Number-based.
3.Can be valid and reliable: largely depends on the measurement device or instrument used.
4.Time expenditure heavier on the planning phase and lighter on the analysis phase.
5.More generalisation.

Sources and Context!! Where did you get the information from and which do you think would be more useful to you and your project development? Or would it be a combination of both that would be better? Always link your posts to your project development.
ReplyDeleteWhere are your posts Sangidul?? Please do not leave them in draft as it looks like you are not using your blog consistently over the course. I hope to see all the missing content soon as your final submission is rapidly approaching!!
