My final essay.

My research essay for computer skills and research module about cyber security in aviation sector. First of all, I want to mention that the innovation is expanding day by day, number of people fall victim to cyber theft. Internet has touched every aspect of life right from the beginning to the present. As people share their personal information online; most of their accounts get hacked by cyber-criminal or in other words black hat hackers. Cyber insecurity is now well established as a serious, unconventional threat for aviation business. The aim of this essay is researching about how aviation sector is attacked by cyber security. How many time they are attacked, how protect cyber insecurity.

To begin with, www.ainonline.com is one of the major part of my research essay. AIN Publications[1] is founded in 1972, it is an independent media company focused on the aviation sector. There stated mission is “To provide timely, accurate and balanced aviation and aerospace news, analysis and data around the world.” There products and publications consist of Aviation International News is a monthly trade publication focused on the business aviation market and packed full of news, features, special reports and survey results. AINalerts is an e-newsletter that is emailed four times a week, Monday through Thursday. AINonline ranks as one of the leading websites for all types of aviation news worldwide. AIN’s Airshow News & Convention News daily issues are published on-site at the world’s most prestigious aviation airshows and conventions every year. Very recently on 12 April 2018, the AIN publication published a news that “Cyber-Security Attacks Already Happening in Business Aviation”.

Moreover, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)[2] is another part of my major project. Because, The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is the statutory corporation which oversees and regulates all aspects of civil aviation in the United Kingdom. Second, UK aviation system that benefits from the advantages of networked communications and services without impediment by the impact of the cyber threat. Third, Mechanisms in place to promote the sharing of aviation cyber security knowledge, skills and capability. Finally, common understanding between all aviation stakeholders of cyber threats, vulnerabilities and risks, supported by a set of accepted standards, advice and guidance. They also responsible for supervising the issuing of pilots' licences, testing of equipment, calibrating of navaids, and many other inspections (Civil Aviation Flying Unit).Training of Air Traffic Engineers to maintain airport and in-route telecommunications (CAA College of Telecommunications Engineering).Managing the regulation of security standards, including vetting of all personnel in the aviation industry (Directorate of Aviation Security).Overseeing the national protection scheme for customers abroad in the event of a travel company failure (Air Travel Organisers' Licensing – ATOL).

Furthermore, /www.pwc.com[3]. Cybersecurity has become to be a lifted hazard that's among the foremost squeezing issues influencing businesses. Today’s cyber enemies are more tireless, talented, and mechanically sharp than fair a year prior, and pioneers over all businesses are taking take note. According to PwC’s 2016 Worldwide Airline CEO Study, 85% of airline CEOs in the study see cybersecurity as a significant risk, likely reflecting the exceedingly delicate nature of flight frameworks and traveller information.

In sum, the cyber threat cannot be entirely overcome, however, The cyber threat needs to be managed through a combination of being realistic and honest about our willingness and capacity to guarantee security in this area; accepting multilateral arrangements to protect commerce and critical infrastructure and leaving traditional forms of intelligence and allowing private companies and individuals to use strong encryption or open-source software without built-in vulnerabilities. Users should always update their systems and network's security settings. Always make sure that your anti-virus[4] performs full-system-scan every week. So, that your desktop stays virus and malware free.
